Privacy Policy
This website collects nothing about you on its own. Here is exactly what happens to information when you visit, apply, donate, or email us.
Effective September 8, 2026. Applies to this website and to the chapter's handling of information from the services linked from it.
Who we are
Phi Delta Epsilon Iowa Beta is a student organization at the University of Iowa and a chapter of Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity. The chapter's executive board runs this website. For anything in this policy, email the chapter.
This website is run by the chapter and is not an official University of Iowa website.
What this website collects
Nothing directly. The site has no accounts, no sign-in, no forms, no comment boxes, no analytics, and no advertising. Every font, script, and image is served from this site's own address. Calendar data and fundraising totals may be requested from the services described below.
The following requests happen in the background:
- Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, it may record the address your device connects from, the page requested, and your browser type, for security and to keep the site running. The chapter does not use these logs to identify visitors.
- Calendar data. If the chapter publishes its calendar from a Google Sheet, your browser downloads that public spreadsheet from Google when you open the Calendar, Rush, or Stand for the Kids® pages. Google may log that request under Google's privacy policy. The spreadsheet contains only event information, never anything about you.
- Fundraising totals. On the Stand for the Kids® page, your browser requests public campaign totals from Help Make Miracles Greek Partners, powered by DonorDrive, on page load and every five minutes while the page is visible. These requests omit cookies and sign-in credentials. The service receives your network address and may log requests under Children's Miracle Network's privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies, does not use local storage to track you, and does not run analytics or advertising trackers. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, this policy will say so and a consent notice will be added first.
Applying to the chapter
Applications are collected through a Google Form linked from the Rush page, not through this website. What you enter there, such as your name, contact details, year, major, and answers to the application questions, is stored in the chapter's Google account and is subject to Google's privacy policy as well as this one.
- We use your application only to run recruitment: contacting you about events and interviews, and deciding on bids.
- It is seen by the recruitment officers and executive board, and by no one else outside the chapter.
- If you do not join, we delete your application at the end of the recruitment cycle. If you join, your contact details become part of your membership record.
- You can ask us to correct or delete your application at any time by email.
Donations
Donations are made on Children's Miracle Network's own pages (its donation site, or its Help Make Miracles Greek Partners page for our year-round fundraising), not on this website. Your payment details go to Children's Miracle Network and its payment provider under their privacy policy. The chapter never sees your card number. Children's Miracle Network may show the chapter donor names, amounts, and messages so we can thank supporters and track our goal. Ask them directly about receipts and anonymous giving.
GroupMe, Instagram, and email
- GroupMe. The join link on this site adds you to a group chat run by the chapter. GroupMe's privacy policy governs the app itself. Other members can see your name and messages in the chat.
- Instagram. Following or messaging our account happens on Instagram under Meta's policies.
- Email. When you email the chapter, we keep your message for as long as needed to reply and follow up, then delete it in the ordinary course.
Photos of members
The photos on this site show chapter members and were published with their permission. If you appear in a photo and want it taken down, email us and we will remove it promptly.
Children
This website and the chapter are for university students and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
Whatever state or country you live in, you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the chapter and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell information about anyone and we do not share it with advertisers.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS and stores no visitor data of its own. Application and membership records live in the chapter's Google account, which is protected by two-factor authentication and limited to current officers.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Questions, requests, and complaints go to the chapter. If a mailing address is listed below, you can also write to us there.
